I advocate for a better future for everyone.

My Story

As a Ph.D. Registered Psychologist, University instructor, and former Elementary teacher, my life experiences and education align with best practices and novel approaches to child development, wholistic approaches to therapy, and restorative justice.

I grew up on a ranch under the big prairie sky, riding my horse through the wheat fields and rolling hills. I was surrounded by family and neighbours who looked after each other and celebrated together. The lessons I learned from nature and my rural roots prepared a foundation of life-long learning.

I became a Ph.D. Registered Psychologist to research and understand the complexities of children’s health and well-being from a Comprehensive School Health lens. My approach has broadened to wholistic, trauma-informed and social justice perspectives to place the best interests of children, their well-being, and their future first. I am fortunate to have many lived experiences and a multi-faceted career that overlaps education, healthcare, women’s issues, and the justice system. My broad background and holistic perspectives allow me to serve children, women, families, and communities in many ways.

Here is the story of how I came to blend both the personal and professional in my career:

The Weight of the World

As our world changes drastically, I am drawn to the teachings of the natural world, Indigenous teachings of honouring the water, the land and the critical importance of decolonizing ourselves and speaking truths. We are here to be in right relationship with each other and with the land on which we live. Now, more than ever, it is time to right the wrongs of the past and create a better future for the next seven generations.

I have always been a changemaker. I listen to and collaborate with experts, research and advocate for evidence-based best practices, stand up for children and women, and speak truth to power. I aspire to be a strong ally. I am engaged, involved, and ready to make a difference.

I believe that nothing changes unless people are willing to listen to themselves and each other through the lenses of compassion, restorative justice, and decolonization. If you are seeking a healing experience from a heart-centered and courageous woman with lived experience and the passion to make a difference, please reach out. I’m listening.
